Iron Octoate

 Iron 2-EthylHexanoate

  • Iron octoate is an active drier only at high temperatures, while at room temperature, it exhibits very poor drying activity
  • Iron drier is used in backing-stove finishes since it promotes polymerization and rapid drying
  • When used in air drying alkyd coatings, iron octoate improves through drying
  • It increases gloss by preventing adsorption of driers on the surface of pigments
  • Iron octoate is an excellent wetting agent for carbon black and iron oxide
